“
Hircismus” means “armpit odor.” According to the OED, it
comes from the Greek word “hircus” or
goat. So do stinky armpits smell like goats?
I’ve smelled both, and I’ve never noticed it, but maybe Greek goats are different.
There is a special word for stinky goats: hircine. Ooh, and there’s also a
word for people with super-sweaty armpits: maschalephidrosis!
